Calling all Energy Efficiency and/or Renewable Energy Training Program Providers

Energy Efficiency Alberta is working to expand access to participation incentives for Alberta residents to attend energy efficiency/renewable energy training programs. If you are a training/certification provider with an established and credible program, we want to hear from you.

Program providers/trainers who complete this Expression of Interest will be evaluated against the eligibility requirements outlined below to establish areas of technical competency and relevancy with Energy Efficiency Alberta’s goals and mandate. Energy Efficiency Alberta is focusing on four target markets which include building inspectors and officials, building managers and operators, energy efficiency service providers, and energy efficiency measures product providers/installers. Energy Efficiency Alberta will provide incentives for individuals employed in these target markets to attend selected training programs. Only training providers and training programs selected and onboarded into Energy Efficiency Alberta’s Technical Capacity Building initiative after the evaluation will be included in the program.

By applying with Energy Efficiency Alberta’s Technical Capacity Building call for Expressions of Interest your program will be considered for inclusion in the launch of the expanded incentive program in the spring of 2019. Eligible training programs will be featured in a list of technical training programs available to Albertans on Energy Efficiency Alberta’s website. Participants would then register for your program as per usual and after successfully completing the course/certification they would then apply to receive the participation incentive by providing proof of successful program completion. As a training provider, you would not receive any direct funding from Energy Efficiency Alberta and this initiative does not guarantee participation in your courses. The initial program launch will allow you to get ahead of the game. Additional opportunities to onboard with the program will be available on a quarterly basis.

Energy Efficiency Alberta and Decentralized Energy Canada are working together to administer the selection process. By completing the application below you are providing your consent for Energy Efficiency Alberta to complete a background check including contacting the references provided. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of January 2019.  Responding to this Expression is not a guarantee that your training program will be included in the program.

(Note, only established programs will be considered for this initiative. If you are planning to develop a new course you may be eligible for support through Energy Efficiency Alberta’s Energy Efficiency Education Grant Program.)

The deadline for responding to this Expression of Interest is at the end of the day on December 15, 2018.
