There are three new ways Energy Efficiency Alberta is helping you save money while improving your home’s energy efficiency:
- Home Improvement Rebates offers incentives on energy-efficient renovation projects
- Online Rebates offers incentives to upgrade your existing appliances and thermostats to energy-efficient models
- Instant Savings incentives saves you money on energy-efficient products right at the till—but just for a limited time (six-week campaigns, spring/fall)
Think of the Home Improvement Rebate as a way to reinforce your home for overall energy efficiency. Participating Alberta contractors will provide energy-efficient renovations that are eligible for rebates (including window upgrades, improved insulation and tankless hot water heaters) giving your home the edge it needs to be truly energy-wise. Participating contractors will be listed on the Energy Efficiency Alberta web site, and homeowners will be able to directly contact the contractor of their choice to arrange services.
This program is for anyone looking to upgrade some of their in-home appliances. Starting April 28, 2017, homeowners can apply online for rebates when they purchase select energy-efficient refrigerators, clothes washers, and smart thermostats. With the Online Rebates, you’ll be saving money, saving energy, and giving your lifestyle an upgrade too.
The Instant Savings is an incentive designed to save you money on household items you need to buy on a regular basis. Participating retail stores will be offering immediate discounts on a variety of energy-efficient goods, such as LED lights, programmable thermostats, dimmers, motion sensors, smart power bars, and low flow faucets and showerheads. You’ll keep money in your wallet at the point of purchase and save money on your monthly energy bill right away too.
Instant Savings runs in the spring from April 28 to June 11, 2017 and for another six weeks in the fall—act fast to take advantage of the savings.
